The beginning of Chinese New Year 2020 (according to the lunar calendar) begins on the New Moon which in 2020, will be on the 25th January 2020; this will take place after the Winter Solstice and the event is celebrated by millions of people in every single country and area of the world that you can think of. Chinese New Year is a time of new beginnings and signifies a fresh start for everyone. Chinese New Year is very much a family event where the social side of things is concerned and is a time of reunion and thanksgiving. Below you will find everything you will need to know about Chinese New Year 2020 year of the Yang Metal Rat…
Those born in the year of the Horse or Rooster could be affected by the conflicting influences of the year of the Yang Metal Rat. Although the Horse is the conflict animal of the Rat year, those born in the year of the Horse should be aware of potential difficulties they may encounter during the year and take extra care in whatever they do without taking unnecessary risks in all aspects of their life. Regardless, if you follow the advice here you can avoid many problems and enjoy a great 2020 in our opinion so do not panic. It should be noted that there are five different types of each Chinese Animal (fire, water, wood, earth, metal) which depends on the year you were born and each different animal will have different predictions for the year ahead; you can find out more about this in our 2020 Feng Shui guide which should be released around November 2019 so please be sure to check back on this page.
For example:
Metal Rabbit: 1951
Water Rabbit: 1963
Wood Rabbit: 1919, 1975
Fire Rabbit: 1927, 1987
Earth Rabbit: 1939, 1999
The degree of this influence varies from one person to another. One of the major considerations is the heavenly stem of the year in which one was born so if you were born in 1930 or 1990 which would be a Metal Horse, the year will not be bad at all.

Hi Daniel
I have just started working from home. My DOB is 19/04/1962, so I know SE is good for me and plus it is auspicious this year. I really need some good luck as this is a new job I am starting and am very nervous. I would like any help or assistance. I currently have my desk set up so my back is going to the South East.
Thanks
Kay
Hi Kay,
If your back is facing the southeast, you would be facing the northwest which is your Hi Hai direction and not good. I would recommend facing either the north, south, east or southeast when working if you can.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Thank you Daniel, I’ve moved my desk to face North with my back going South. Is it also good to have a picture of running water in the south east this year. I know I’m a bit late but just trying to get any benefits from what’s left of the year. Thank you
Hi,
I would not recommend having running water in the southeast as this will weaken the good metal star here for the year.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Daniel
I am opening my new business office on the first week of October my date of birth is January 29 1976, what would be the best day for grand opening. Thank you
Hi Josefa,
The best date for you to open your business would be on the 1st, 2nd, 5th, 7th, 8th or 10th.
I hope this helps and hope the opening goes well!
Kind regards,
Daniel
Feng Shui can change one’s luck. I do believe in it. It helps me to overcome critical periods in my real life.
Hi Daniel
I have a wooden picture of cranes which I would like to hang but I am not sure which would be the most suitable direction for it. It is completely made of wood – the picture and the frame. Can you advise me please?
Thank you
Kind regards
Kirstine
Hi Kristine,
I would place these in the southwest this year to feed the energy of the annual #4 relationship star.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Sir what day should be the better to open business in the month of september 2020.
Hi Rhon,
I would recommend taking a look at the link below as this will be able to give you the best dates to open a business in September.

Hello, can you help me how to choose a good date this year (2020) for renovation (wall breake) on East (star 5). Thank you very much.
Hi Astra,
The best months to do renovation work are July, August, September, November, and January.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Dear Kate,
MY DOB 06-06-1978 no growth at all in my entire life
could you tel me ,is ther any luck in my life long peried?
my elements predictction 2020?
Hi Sree,
Your Chinese animal is the Earth Horse; you can read more about your Chinese animal here – https://www.fengshuiweb.co.uk/animals/earthhorse.htm
For your prediction for 2020, I would take a look at this link – https://www.fengshuiweb.co.uk/advice/chineseanimals2020/horse.htm
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Daniel
I had to cancel my wedding in June due to virus, now there are 2 dates available 10/17/2020 and 10/24/2020 what date would be better.
My date of birth is 7/5/1990, fiancé date of birth is 8/25/1987
Hi Samantha,
I’m sorry to hear that you had to cancel your wedding.
I’m afraid both dates are not auspicious for a wedding. If you decide to go with these dates, I would try to start the service during your auspicious time of day which is between 13:00-14:59.
I hope this helps.
Kind regards,
Daniel
Hi master, I want to ask about this year 2020, there is this health pandemic corona virus, is there a clash this year thats why so many negative things have happened already in year 2020? Thank you.
Hi Ann,
Here is a snippet of our predictions for 2020 which I hope you find helpful –
2020 begins the year as a new decade and also a new astral cycle of the twelve animals, and this will be a year of great change and unrest especially with movements all over the world and potential uprises in the East and the Middle East although the changes it can bring should be a good thing and the youth will be starting to show the power of unity and this can and should create a worldwide unity of hundreds of thousands if not millions of people coming together as a force to change. I think this will be a good thing in the end although there could be many ups and downs.
We will see again more natural disasters taking place around the world during the year of the Rat related to weather changes in 2020. Unfortunately, the annual influence can bring some problems that are out of our control although we do have the power to avoid problems in our own home and business with the help of the annual flying stars by following the Feng Shui advice on these pages.
https://www.fengshuiweb.co.uk/advice/flyingstars2020.htm
Kind regards,
Daniel
