Your Primary and Secondary wealth area for period 9 – 2024 – 2044 and water placement for that 20-year cycle
Direct & in-direct spirit. (Zheng Shen & Ling Shen)
As you probably know by now, we will enter period 9 on the 4th of February 2024 and if you followed our advice 20 years ago you may have activated the southwest of your home or office with an outside water feature to activate your primary and secondary wealth area, this can bring unforeseen prosperity and for a business new clients/customers.
This is a particularly powerful water Dragon method but must be followed carefully, it is also known as Sub Direct spirit, nothing to do with ghosts but the Ho Tu combinations 1-6 2-7 3-8 4-9.
This method is called “Direct & Indirect spirit” (Zheng Shen & Ling Shen) and for period #9 (2024 – 2044) you could place an outside water feature in the north.
The basic rules for period 9 2024 – 2044 are you must have real water, road or lower ground in the north and a mountain, building, trees or high fence in the south. It is nice if you have a real mountain or neighbouring building in the south but the average home does not always enjoy this, so you can build a virtual mountain by placing a fence panel, growing trees or even a pile of beach boulders in the south. Most important do not have water in the south from February 4th 2024 unless you have had professional; advice from a Feng Shui consultant. This water placement must be outside and placed as far from the house as possible.
If you have both (mountain & water) as above you will have a happy home and wealth will be good. If you have water in the north but no mountain/building in the south wealth will be good but it does not mean your home will be unhappy and the same applies in reverse. If you have no water in the north, it does not mean you will have bad wealth, far from it.
These methods are one of many and a more in-depth way of tapping into wealth with traditional Feng Shui and they include five Ghosts carrying money, many Castle gate methods, Later Heaven Gua, Pa Sha, Wang Chen, Fan Gua mountain & water, to name a few, these are all very powerful ways of activating wealth.
Regrettably, they go beyond what I can teach in the article, they involve careful assessments although many of the most powerful wealth secrets are given in our Feng Shui software and you may find the information in the software gives different advice to the above as it takes into account your building period and its facing compass direction.
You can use one or both methods in your home or office in period 9.
To recap:
1) Primary wealth area – place water outside in the north and mountain in the south.
3) place water outside in the north and mountain in the south.
4) Most important do not have water in the south from February 2024. If you have a pond or water feature in the south (inside or outside), I would recommend moving it unless you have been advised to place it by a Feng Shui master or consultant as he could be using even more advanced water Dragon methods.
You can also apply this formula when you buy or rent a building in a village, town or city you are planning to move to and if it has water (good for wealth) located to the north and mountains or hills (good for people) in the south of the area you know that particular area will prosper from 2024 – 2044.
Water Dragon Direct & in-direct spirit. (Zheng Shen & Ling Shen) Formula:
Look at the Lo Shu Map below and identify where the governing star is for the period, as you can see for period 8 it is located in the northeast, this is called Zheng Shen (Direct spirit) the palace opposite is southwest this is called Ling Shen (in-direct spirit).
In period 9 2024 – 2044 you will see the governing star #9 for that period is in the south which is called Zheng Shen (Direct spirit) and the palace opposite is north this is called Ling Shen (in-direct spirit).
- Zheng Shen (Direct spirit) Must have mountain support
- Ling Shen (in-direct spirit) Must have water or lower ground

I started learning about Feng Shui and Bazi recently. There is so much information! I came across your website and would like to express my gratitude for all the advice you offered.
I have 2 questions:
1) I’m wondering if it’s too late to apply cures and enhancements for Period 9?
2) Star 3 (legal issues) is the location of my main entrance door in the NW sector. Will the permanent Star 6 be impacted by my attempt to cure and enhance with fire elements?

I hope you’re enjoying your journey with Feng Shui so far. It can be a big learning curve, although the Annual Flying stars are a great way to come to grips with how the stars work.
You can enhance the stars in your home at any point. Try to imagine it like exercise; the best time to start was 5 years ago, although the second best time to start is now 🙂
If you have a fixed 6 star in the northwest along with the annual 3, the best solution for this would be to introduce earth cures. Earth will enhance the 6, and drain energy from the 3 star as wood destroys earth, making the 3 star weaker.

Hi, I have a very Big Dead tree in from of my condo unit that died a year ago. The front of my condo is facing the North and my front door is in NW. The dead tree covers my whole front of my condo.
Luckily, my back door is in the South. Alot of bad things have happened in a year and are still playing out((( Wondering what to do to stop any negative energy from tree? I wonder also about putting my cats water fountain in the north inside my condo. Thank you!!!

If the tree needs to be removed, it would be better to do it this year as we have the Three Killings located here next year. It is best to do this in March, July, August, September, October, or December.
You can place the cats water here as long as the water and bowl are kept clean throughout the year.

1. Is it advisable to put a small water fountain at the North Sector INSIDE my house ( 2024-2044) ?
2. Kindly give me some advice for my home kitchen area 2025
a. South sector – Toilet
b. South East sector – Basin/faucet
c. East sector – Stove
Area above cant be relocated, small area.

I’m afraid that I don’t like to advise on water fountains, as they can cause more harm than good when placed without a full understanding of the fixed natal chart.
For the south, I would introuduce metal and earth. An easy way ios to place a white towel and decorations.
For the southeast, I would introduce metal here.
For the east, the stove is good here and I would also introduce fire and wood colours and cures.

First thank you for posting such thorough fengshui advice each year, it is very useful. I have a question about not having a water feature in the South, does a bathroom count as a water feature? It’s obviously hard to move a bathroom, so what can you advise? For the North, I could put a small water fountain outside of the apartment but is that what you mean by putting a water feature in the North? As we live in an apartment, it’s hard to know how to adjust some of the recommendations. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Nathalie,
A bathroom wouldn’t count as a water feature as this is hidden and is usually out of our control to move. I would suggest not placing a water feature unless you have a good understanding of the fixed Flying star chart for your home as water features are a bit of a specialist cure.

I don’t like to advise on aquariums as it is best to do this based on the fixed Flying star chart for your home. If you haven’t already installed an aquarium, it is best practice to avoid this unless you have a good understanding of your chart.

Hi Daniel, for the South section – does the mountain or tall objects needs to be outside too same as the water feature in the North section? If inside, can a picture of mountains or tall trees be placed in the south section?

A photo of tall trees will work well to drain energy from the #7 star this year. It is best to evaluate this annually as we will have the #6 star here next year which would also drain energy from this auspicious star.
