Although the economy is starting to see the light of day recently in certain countries with the United Kingdom seeing interest rates unlikely to rise until next year which is fantastic news. Although things are looking up, these are still uncertain times which is why I would recommend following the advice that I list below for 2015.
The below Feng Shui tips, secrets, cures and enhancers below are not just about placing a few crystals or statues and may seem a bit boring with no quick fixes but believe me they really make a difference, we have proved this so many times not just in our lives but thousands of others as you will see from our testimonials page, this is authentic Feng Shui that will get you results in 2015 and far beyond.
Over the past two months, we have made a some changes to our home such as redecorating the cloakroom and fitting a new bathroom and also having a deep clean aroud the whole home as we do every year before New Year and also Chinese New Year; this involves a great deal of tasks and can be a bit daunting at times although the end result is always rewarding. it might seem strange that we do two big cleans in the home and office only a matter of weeks apart although New Year is a personal preference as I like to look at it the same was as I would Chinese New Year; out with the old, in with the new (Sheng Qi). Our next clean will be before Chinese New Year on February 19th 2015.

Clearing this negative sha chi is very powerful and you will be astonished at the effect it can have. Gardens are often overlooked and now is a perfect time to make sure all drains are cleared and cleaned, and I do mean lifting drain covers and cleaning out and disinfecting, this is very important and the Sha Ch’i (negative energy) from them can cause many problems.
Gutters and down-pipes also hold much Sha Ch’I (negative energy) especially if they are full of dead leaves, just put your nose up close around a join in the gutter and the smell will tell you if your gutters need cleaning or not. I know this may not seem like the exciting article you would normally read in Feng Shui books but to us and the more authentic Feng Shui Masters, these jobs are critical for good Feng Shui in a home or business.
What I love about Feng Shui is when I see the results with my clients and Jo’s customers; we have received thousands of testimonials over the years with incredible results but the ones I really love to experience are the results that remind me of how powerful Feng Shui really is, not that I need reminding but human nature still allows me to get a buzz from it.
Two years ago I woke up in the middle of the night with a horrible feeling in my stomach; this is what many would call a “gut feeling” and one that I rely on in my personal and business life as it usually serves me very well. I knew something was wrong with the home and business, I was not communicating effectively and we even saw for the first time in 13 years, a decline in Jo’s business. Cutting a long story very short, after exploring all the potential causes I discovered our mains drain in the rear garden was blocked and had been for a few weeks according to the person who cleared them, in fact it was not our drain that was blocked but our neighbour three doors down and one of them was the person I had a communication problem with aka an “argument” this is something I never do and in the 16 years we have lived here I have never had a cross word with our neighbours. This drain was not a normal blocked drain, it had in fact backed up into the home and even though we had commented over the past few weeks about a nasty smell in the downstairs cloakroom I decided to ignore it.
I checked all our annual cures and enhancers had not been moved or our salt cure not spilt by Daniels new puppy Frankie and all was ok so I checked the drains and within 24 hours of the local waterboard coming out on a Friday night at 9pm to clear the drains, everything was back to normal and I actually felt so much better too.
Please remember much of Feng Shui is influenced by outside so take the time over this coming weekend to check drains and every corner of the garden.
In 2015 make sure the north of your home is clutter free and kept clean inside and out. Back in 2012, Josephine asked if I would look at one of her clients photos and floor plans that had been sent to her a few weeks ago saying how he had noticed a slump in his finances. On studying the photos and floor plans I noticed they had a bathroom in the west where the #8 wealth star was located for the year which is bad enough but because the bathroom was in the sunny side of the home they decided to turn the bathroom into a conservatory growing plants seeds for the spring/summer. This was really bad as they introduced not only so much chaos and clutter but also a strong growing wood element which destroys the good #8 earth annual star. After advising for Jo’s client they have noticed a considerable increase in finances and overall luck.
In 2015 take a good look at the north of your home or office inside and out and make sure you do not have any clutter around your Annual Cures and Enhancers. Place some real quartz crystal into the north and some boulders/stones outside, a good number would be 8 around the size of a small fist or larger. If you work with symbols, quartz crystals, crystal balls or hanging faceted crystals are very good for this south palace this year. The #8 star also governs relationships so a nice romance enhancer is a Shuang Chong Li yu Double Carp Statue combined with the Ba Gua Fu Pai master cure in the north.
Do not assume that when something negative happens in your life that your Feng Shui has gone wrong, it is possibly just a passing influence of the monthly effects in the xuan kong flying stars. The first thing is to look at our website and check the monthly stars; this normally explains why something has happened around the home or office and more importantly what you can do about it. Do not get paranoid though, sometimes things happen because it is part of your destiny earth luck and nothing to do with the Feng Shui of the home or office, it could be because you are a Goat or other animal and your forecast that month was not good. Do not worry, it will pass and remember we spend 70% of our time worrying about things that never even happen.
This advice that I am giving may sound patronising to some and if so I am sorry but don’t think by buying a three legged Toad or a pair of Mandarin ducks and placing it in your office or bedroom that you will win the lottery one day and the next day your dream date will come knocking on the door; you have to address the basics first, a clean house, office and garden and live your life as best you can. Whatever you give out in this world will come back to you tenfold good or bad and you will need to put the effort in if you wish to see the results.
Don’t get me wrong, the Toads, Mandarin ducks or any other Feng Shui cure or enhancer are very important but like everything in life, some elbow grease has to go into achieving your dreams. These enhancers are superb but a little like having a perfect diet and plenty of exercise but smoking 60 cigarettes and drinking a bottle of whisky a day. There is no point in placing your 3-legged Toad in a place where you make space by clearing all the dust and dirt to one side, clear the dirt away and then place the Toad.
It is worth spending a few hours cleaning the main entrance door, frame and glass, oiling hinges, polishing brass, fixing broken door furniture, repair or replace rotted wood etc because the main door is one of the most important areas of the home, it is usually where the main qi (chi) enters your home and the quality of qi will be as good as the state of repair to the door. Remember the quality of the qi that enters your home is governed by the quality of your main door and its surroundings. If you have a main door in the west, northeast or southwest make sure you avoid banging the door closed and do not make any renovations to these areas in 2015 and make sure you have your annual cures and enhancers in place. This also applies to door mats and door frames.
Door mats should be kept very clean and make sure your shoes or boots are not kept by the door. Did you also know that dirty windows can make you lose 30% daylight (Sheng Ch’i) in a home? Coconut doormats are also very bad from a Feng Shui point of view as they store negative energy. Do not keep shoes near your front door; they constitute clutter and create stagnant energy. If you have another door, apart from the front door that is used on a frequent basis including by friends and visitors, the path leading to it must be clear, unobstructed and clean. This will be the path ‘chi’ would take to enter your house and therefore make sure this source is coming from a favourable direction. Daniel recently moved home and when Jo and I visited him after he had settled, we noticed that he was not following the advice that we live by… Daniel had several pairs of trainers and shoes in the hallway out in the open and needless to say, his housewarming gift was a shoe box from Jo and I.
Placing annual cures and enhancers are essential in any year but this year of the Goat/Sheep 2015 they are needed more than ever. Please read this article for all the Feng Shui help and advice you will need in 2015.
