You may have some of the items already from your previous year’s annual cures kit, if so; you can use them with a couple of little additions listed below. Many websites will try and sell you hundreds of pounds of gimmicky cures for the annual afflictions, not only are they not necessary, they can cause even more problems.
Many websites will also tell you to throw away or bury your old wind chimes, six coins, Pi Yao, wu lou, and Dragon Headed Tortoise etc from the previous year because they store so much negative energy, this is not necessary as long as you cleanse the items before replacing them for the new Chinese year. To cleanse them ideally you should place outside under a full moon overnight or in direct sunlight for at least 4 hours and sprinkle with rock salt. Rinse under water in the morning and place them in the appropriate areas. This does not apply to the salt water cure, as this MUST be renewed every year without exception. Many people write in asking if we personally change our cures and enhancers kit each year as nearly all websites and books say you should throw them away. Feng Shui was actually only available to the rich in the old days. The old Feng Shui Masters would use a Lou Pan compass as a cure and whilst the Lou Pan is by far the best cure they would normally be far too expensive and only the rich could afford to use them. The reason why you use a Lou Pan is that the Trigram Gen situated in the northeast is an earth element and the shape of a Lou Pan is square which is earth shaped but the most important cure is actually the round shape of the dial which is called an “earth pate” and the reason why they are used, as they resonate with the Gen Trigram so well. We have had these Lou Pans made at a cost that will suit all pockets and whilst we would not recommend using them in a Feng Shui business as a true compass, they are actually good quality with some slight imperfections but a piece of art in my opinion although the quality will never be as good as a Masters Lou Pan that costs hundreds of pounds.
