The perfect situation in a home is to have perfect harmony in and around the home; how would you explain harmony in and around the home? Chances are that you used words like clean, peaceful or bright. These are all signs of Sheng Chi…

I will start this article off by describing what Sheng Chi is – Sheng Chi is the good Qi, Sha Chi is the bad Chi. Imagine that Sheng Chi is a wavy line moving at a steady pace meandering along. Sheng Chi is known as the breath of the contented Dragon and in a nutshell this is what Feng Shui aims to achieve. So if you have a long hallway this Chi will move very fast (Sha Chi) all you need to do is slow it down.

Straight hallways pass Chi too quickly

Now you could place a crystal faceted spheres in the hallway and this would do the trick, however, (here I go again, I must remember to try and sell you something, and not keep putting you off) I prefer to do it more naturally, try to place a few items of furniture or plants staggered in your hallway to slow the flow of Chi down. The same applies to your path leading to your front door, if it is a straight path, try and place pot plants to make it a wavy path. If your front door is located in the south, you should use a hanging Crystal enhancer in this area in September 2013 to calm effects.

Sha ChiA lot of people get confused about Feng Shui, it is not just about buying cures from our shop, it is also looking at your home and gardens and seeing where a room or area doesn’t feel right, you can feel and smell Sha Chi, you must of heard the saying about someone looking to buy a new house, “I could tell the second I walk in through the front door if this is the right house for me” this is not just about how it looks, it is also about how it feels. The picture on the right will attract Chi but for the wrong reasons as it is filled with clutter and the Chi will very quickly turn in to Sha Chi.

You have the same power to sense this; take a walk around the inside and outside of your home and open your mind and take a good look round your house this weekend, or better still invite a friend over who has a similar interest and get them to look round your home and do the same to theirs.

When sweeping your driveway or patio always sweep away from you door, so you do not bring in any Sha Chi into your home or office.

Four ways to spot Sheng Chi

Sight: A good looking person, house, painting, a film that warms the heart or a film that sends shivers down your spine. Remember what may be Sheng Chi to you may be Sha Chi to someone else especially with different age groups, to some the sight of a big bowl of chocolate pudding would be heaven, yet to someone else it could make them feel sick, as they say “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”.

Bright colours can attract Sheng Chi

Touch: Again this can be good or bad, a silk dress or a clingy polyester dress that clings to your body, a warm bath, it can also combine with taste, smell etc, imagine putting a slimy sheep eye in your mouth, feels yuck and tastes just as bad I am sure. Taste: The same applies to above, have you seen the Marmite adverts on TV, this is a great example you either love it or hate it. Tobacco, another good example.

Sheng Chi touch

Sound: Heavy rock music or classical, babbling brook, birds singing etc. All these add to the setting of a property or gardens try and attract nature into your garden with bird feeders, squirrel nuts etc.

Sound Sheng Chi

Smell: Perfume, flowers, body odour, and cigarette smoke could smell divine to one person and disgusting to another.

Smell Sheng Chi

If possible, try and take some time to wander round your home and garden, do it with an open mind, take a look at all those corners in the home or gardens that you feel may be a bit stale, is your pond water clean? Are the flower borders neat and tidy? Office looking very cluttered, you know what I mean, you would be amazed at the difference it can make by clearing some of that old junk in the garden or home.

How to attract Sheng Chi in to your home.

Now that you know how to spot Sheng Chi, you can start attracting it to your home. The best ways to attract Sheng Chi are by using the simple items below.

Plants and fresh cut flowers – These will help attract and keep Sheng Chi in the home for as long as the plants and flowers are fresh

Plant pots for Sheng Chi

Bright clutter free rooms – a clean and open room will help to attract Sheng Chi and also store it there to benefit everyone in the room

Clean rooms attract Sheng Chi

attractive and clean front door – always keep your door clean and keep paint fresh on your front door. You should also keep the entrance area to your home clean and attractive as this is the main entrance of Chi.

Keep your front door clean to attract Sheng Chi

Avoid rude and negative images – When I was younger, my parents told me that I shouldn’t have posters up of rock bands and I always though it was just them being annoying parents but as I began to study Feng Shui I realised how these images could quickly attract Sha Chi and disipate Sheng Chi. Try to avoid any images of knifes, violent people etc.

  1. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderful my space feels and how lively I feel after removing a lot of clutter out of my living room. I do a lot of studying during the week on my sofa (I know, I know) and by the end of the week I have papers, books, cups, shoes, magazines, and other stuff when I finally look around at the condition of my space. I clear it all out to the bare minimum (vacuum, dust, etc.) and I almost feel as though I have had a spiritual awakening of some sort. No matter how many cures I buy and put into place (they are really helpful), I find that just tidying up my space, fixing things that are torn or worn, and organizing what is left, I always feel some immediate benefit and feel like a conqueror…:)

    1. Hi Amy,
I could not agree more, i love the feeling of de-cluttering and then going back to look at the space i have cleared about 10 times after feeling great, it is so satisfying and such good Feng Shui, and cures and enhancers work so much more effectively when cleared of sha chi.
      Kind regards
      Daniel

  2. great article! thank you. I downsized from a house to a flat and although I love the space I just could never get it \’right\’. Well, with a few recent changes I think I\’ve got it – there is space, it\’s \’airy\’, and lighter, with flow. I think because the pieces were expensive albeit lovely, I didn\’t want to \’get rid\’ of them. However, I took down the dupioni silk drape from it\’s position and installed roman blinds; and removed the electric fireplace with large stone mantle and ta da! AND what I really did to make this work was hire a FS consultant (even though that\’s what I do) for a fresh look/new eyes and I\’ll admit it here, a bit of a test too. ps I love your software. Best wishes to all, Marilyn.
