I shall explain a little here what Xuan Kong
(flying stars) is in order to benefit our readers who are not familiar
with it. Please remember this is only the monthly good or bad influence,
you can enhance and cure even more by following our annual advice, follow
this link for more details.

The Xuan Kong (flying star) system addresses
the time dimension of Feng Shui of a given property (home or office).
This is an analysis of the interaction of elements (fire, earth, metal,
water and wood) within the different sectors of the property and how we
may enhance the good energies to give us support or suppress the bad energies
by keeping them at bay. Every year we put together an annual cures kit
which enhances good stars and cures bad stars; these are essential for
every home and office. These cures and enhancers kits can be placed at
any time of the year.

If you are thinking of building a house, this
is the time when we analyse the natal chart (flying star chart as below)
to determine the best locations for all doors and the allocation of important
rooms in order to harness the beneficial distribution of energy. Every
property will have good and bad stars; the secret is placing the good
stars in places like an office, bedroom, lounge or dining room and the
bad ones in places like a bathroom, en-suite, cloakroom or utility room.

In Feng Shui terms, the interaction between the energies (good or bad)
of each sector of a Xuan Kong chart above will affect the well-being of
the household.

In addition, this interaction is further influenced by the visitation
of the Annual visiting energy that represents the potential influence,
as well as the Monthly visiting energy that acts like a catalyst. These
influences are experienced in varying degrees throughout the month because
of the Daily visiting energy.

The important palaces (sectors) that affect us most are:

a. The main / front door

b. The door you use for entry and exit frequently or on a
daily basis

c. The sector where your office is located within the building

d. Your bedroom location within your property

e. The rooms that are used frequently where most activities,
noise and movement are, e.g. kitchen, living room, study or the playroom

What do we do with this information?

In every house, there are
good and bad palaces which affect our daily lives. How and who gets affected
(good or bad) depends on who occupies which area. The objective here is
to be aware of the influences and how to capitalise on the beneficial
energies or avoid the unfavourable influences either through enhancers
or cures or avoidance. Knowing the effects of the influences allows us
to take appropriate measures and actions to calm interactions. So, do
not get too worried when you come across a bad sector – sometimes with
thought, care and the appropriate elements, we can balance any conflict
of energies or compensate the lack of an element to bring harmony to a
palace. That said, if a palace is particularly bad, avoidance is the best
cure.

You do not have to run around and try to cure every affected sector of
your house. Simply be aware of the potential influences of the sectors.
The objective of this update is to prepare you by informing you of the
intangible forces of energy that exist in each sector of the house and
how these may influence your performance.

Please do not panic when you find that your bedroom is located in an affected
sector for the month. This is only a temporary influence and can be avoided.
If you cannot avoid the room completely, then try to use the good small
sectors (tai chi) of the room. There are more details on how to do this
towards the bottom of this page.

You are only affected (positively or negatively) by the frequently used
areas. Hence the advice:

  • Use the beneficial areas more and the areas of negative influences
less. For example, if the living room is affected by conflicting energies,
try not to play loud music in this room for the month. By keeping
the area quiet, you successfully manipulate the effect of the energies.
  • If possible, use another door if your main door is negatively affected
    this month.
  • Use the good sectors to solve existing problems whether they concern
    relationships or money matters.

If your main door is affected and this is only the door you have in your
property, you should take extra care in what you do during the affected
month. You will know it may not be a good time to take risks and also
to take extra care of your health.

Many may have their annual cures in place to ensure a smooth year ahead;
if not please follow this link for more details. The annual cures can be placed
at any time of the year up until February 2006.

Xuan Kong Flying Stars September 2005:

From 7th September to 7th October 2005 is the eight month
of the Yi You year (Yin Wood Rooster year) with the ruling energy of #1
in the central grid.

The Beneficial Palaces for September 2005 are:

East – Although a negative part
of the home for the year, this month will see some positive effect in
this area. There is hope for promotion and career change and those in
business may also find new ventures in the pipeline. Do make good use
of this sector of your office or home. A nice table or standing lamp can
be placed here to enhance this wonderful influence. If there are any aspects
of your life that you wish to improve this month place a symbolic object
the east, an example would be if you were applying for a new job, place
the application copy forms in the east or east of your room. If this is
your bedroom though you still need to be care and ensure your annual cures
are put in place although it is not as bad as previous months. Make the
most of September as the energy here is not as good next month (October).

Offices with doors located in the east or an office in the east may find
their business go up a beat this month. The energies denote great business
opportunities. If you happen to occupy an office in the east, stride ahead
with your plans and ventures. If you have a crystal
globe
this is a great place to have this month. Keep this part of
the home active this month and if you have children encourage them to
play here providing it is safe.

For those who like to work with symbolic objects, you can place your three
legged toad in the east corner of the office /study but make sure that
it faces into the room and not outwards and the coin is always kept in
his mouth. Make sure you remove them next month though.

Southeast – Couples looking to
conceive this month should focus on using a bedroom in the southeast sector
of their home although if this is where your front or back door is located
take extra security measures, as there is a possible encounter with burglars.
Make sure doors are double locked before leaving the house. If your office
is in this southeast sector, stay away from arguments. You may be drawn
into an argument and tempers may flare. You have some good and bad here
but overall this is a better area this month and some prospects for wealth.

Northeast – Some romantic possibilities
here especially if your bedroom is located in the northeast. Be careful
though as although romantic opportunities may arise you need to be careful,
as you could get hurt, do not rush head in and think twice. If you have
a pair of Mandarin ducks place them in the northeast of home or the northeast
part of your bedroom, you can also use romantic symbols like images of
hugging couples, these can be pictures, statues or anything that has a
romantic feel to it. There may be minor respiratory problems like a persistent
niggling cough and if you feel you develop this problem at any time in
the month place a bowl of clean still water in the northeast but make
sure the water is renewed every 2-3 days and also removed at the end of
the month (7th October).

Sectors to be aware of this month:

Northwest – This is not a nice
combination at all and although easier said than done but you should really
try and avoid this area at all costs this month, I know I will be. For
those whose bedroom is in the northwest palace of the home and whose work
requires much travelling, do take extra care and patience on the road.
If this area of your home is a bedroom, front door or office and you use
our monthly cures kit place your
Wu Lou here along with six Chinese coins tied in a row with red ribbon
to weaken the #2 sickness and bad luck star. If the northwest in your
home is a bathroom, en-suite, utility room or other unimportant room do
not worry and you do not need to place cures, it is only a problem when
a bedroom, office lounge or any other important room fall into this area
that it becomes a problem. If this is your main bedroom and your annual
salt water cure is heavily deposited with crystals I would replace it
ASAP.

Avoidance is the best cure for this combination of qi. If you cannot avoid
using this room, make sure that metal cures are in place like a Wu
Lou and/or six Chinese coins tied in a row with red ribbon.
Use metal
such as gold, copper or brass. You can use whatever metal objects you
have got handy in your house, but do avoid objects that are sharp or menacing
looking. Do not place any red, pink or orange colours in this area or
anything triangular or square in shape and do not burn candles
in the east for the whole year. If you are living in a country where the
weather is still hot please be very careful where placing your fan, avoid
placing in the northwest, south and west this month, as it will activate
these inauspicious areas. You should also avoid placing a fan in the northwest,
south and west corners of any room.

South – Although a lovely annual
#8 star it is spoilt by the monthly #5 Yellow so please be very careful
with noisy renovations, banging, drilling and hammering in this part of
the house this month. It is strongly advised to leave any noisy work/renovations
in the south for next month. Those who are recovering from health problems,
try to stay away from this area.

Children occupying a room in this corner of the house must be wary of
rough sports, as there may be possible injuries to the joints or tendons.
Obstacles may be in the way for those who hope to clinch real estate deals
this month. Do not sign any important deals in this room. If you cannot
avoid this room, place a decorative item of metal, copper or bronze in
the south corner of the room to pacify the monthly #5 influence. Do not
place too many metal items here as this may weaken the auspicious annual
8. If you use our monthly cures kit
place the Wu Lou only here as we do not want to weaken the auspicious
annual 8 star. If the south is a bedroom for you and you are not in good
health I would place a wu lou or similar object beside your bed this month,
an alternative to a wu lou is something that is heavy and preferably round
and made of a good quality metal like brass or copper., make sure you
remove the object on the 7th October and check back here for further advice.

West – If you have to travel
a lot by car, take extra precaution when driving. Anyone spending a lot
of time in the west this month can be prone to accidents and mishaps during
trips especially to those whose offices are located in the west sector
of the building. Drive carefully and give yourself extra travelling time
so that you do not feel the need to speed because of not wanting to be
late for an appointment or an important meeting. You should also be careful
of accidents with knives or anything that is made from metal.

If your stairs are located in the west sector of the house, warn young
children not to play or run up and down the stairs this month or they
may find themselves with a sprained ankle or a broken leg. Be cautious.
Elderly residents should also exercise caution.

If you did want to use a traditional cure the only thing I would place
here is a pair of red Fu Dogs or a red Dragon.

If there are external poison arrows, for example, sharp rooflines, sharp
images or unfriendly structures pointing at your property from this west
direction, place a Ba Gua outside if your main door is located here.

Southwest – This does not really
bode well for those using this room and where unhealthy competition may
be an issue. Beware of fraud and trickery in business and negotiations.
If there is a door or window in this area of the house, make sure you
double check that it is locked before leaving the house. In addition,
take extra security precautions. Place something blue around the area
to calm interaction. You can introduce the colour blue or black with bed
covers, cushions/pillows, rugs, floor mats, table clothes etc. The darker
the blue the better.

If you have a front main door here place a dark blue door mat to calm
things down and please make sure that security is good. If you have an
important room like an office, bedroom or living room in the southwest
please be careful of someone you thought you could trust stealing from
you.

North – You may find this a
challenging month with your children whose bedroom is in the north corner
of the house or their bed is located in the north corner of their bedroom.
They may try to push their boundary lines and may give you headaches.
If this is something you can deal with easily, then it may be all right
to leave them in the north sector but if it is a difficult phase that
your teenage child is going through, it would be a good idea to see if
you can move him/her out temporarily. Otherwise, you can introduce more
blue colouring in the furnishing to calm interaction in this room. You
can introduce blues in a bedroom with bed covers, pillow cases or rugs
etc and the darker the blue the better.

I hope you find this September update useful in keeping you informed of
which sectors are potentially influenced by positive or negative qi. Please
remember this is only the monthly good or bad influence, you can enhance
and cure even more by following our annual advice follow this link for more details.

What if you cannot move rooms?

If you are
unable to move to another room for the month, make sure your bed or work/study
tables are in a more beneficial area for the month.

Example:If
you or your child are in a bedroom in a bad area of the home this month,
get your compass and stand in the centre of your room and place the bed
or desk in a more auspicious area for the month as mentioned above.

As you can
see from above, you can turn a bad situation into a better one. You will
not only avoid all problems but the child will benefit from being in a
good area. You must try and keep the bad area quiet so it is not a good
idea to have a music centre in the bad area. Remember that you can apply
this to any room in your home so, if your office is in an afflicted sector;
place your desk in an auspicious sector of the room this month

I know it
is easier said than done but moving out of a room that has temporary inauspicious
qi is worth it. This is so especially with health issues provided you
can afford the space and rooms. If you cannot, do not fret. The effect
can be minimised by relocating the bed or study/work/office table to an
auspicious sector (follow example above) of the room or placing cures
as recommended on this site. As I have said before, this is a monthly
influence and so it will pass.
