What do we do with this information?

In every house, there are good and bad palaces which affect our daily lives. How and who gets affected (good or bad) depends on who occupies which area of the home or business. The best Cure is to be aware of the influences each month and know how to capitalise on the beneficial energies or avoid the unfavourable influences either through enhancers or cures or avoidance.

Knowing the effects of the influences allows us to take appropriate measures and actions to calm interactions. So, do not get too worried when you come across a particularly bad sector – sometimes with thought, care and the appropriate elements, we can balance any conflict of energies or compensate the lack of an element to bring harmony to a palace. If a palace is particularly bad, avoidance is the best cure.

Please do not panic when you find that your bedroom is located in an affected sector for the month. This is only a temporary influence and can be avoided.

  • Use the beneficial areas more and the areas of negative influences less. For example, if the living room is affected by conflicting energies, try not to play loud music in this room for the month. By keeping the area quiet, you successfully manipulate the effect of the energies.
  • If possible, use another door if your main door is affected this month.
  • Use the good sectors to solve existing problems whether they concern relationships or money matters.

If your main door is affected and this is the only door you have in your property, you should take extra care in what you do during the affected month. You will know it may not be a good time to take risks and also to take extra care of your health.

Xuan Kong Flying Stars July 2014:

From 6th july to 6th August 2014 is the sixth month of the Jia Wu year (Yang Wood Horse year) with the ruling energy of #3 in the central grid.

Beneficial sectors for July 2014

Good Flying Stars

North – The energies in the north in July 2014 enjoy a sense of new beginnings and many happy events. There is hope for promotion and career change and those in business may also find new ventures in the pipeline so please have your business hat on. Do make good use of this sector of your office or home this month. A nice table or standing lamp can be placed here to enhance this wonderful influence. If your work area is in this sector of the office, have a task light on the desk and leave it on whenever possible. If there are any aspects of your life that you wish to improve this month place an object in the north, an example would be if you are applying for a new job, place the application copy forms in the north or north of your room. Try and keep windows and doors open in the north this month and leave lights on, you need to encourage as much Yang energy (brightness and airy) as possible.

Offices with doors opening or an office in the north may find their business go up a beat this month. The energies denote great business opportunities. If you happen to occupy an office in the north, try to take your plans and ventures to the next level this month. If you have a crystal globe, this is a great place to have this month. Keep this part of the home active this month and if you have children encourage them to play here providing it is safe. Placing quartz crystal in this area is very good or even objects made of earth element like ceramics.

For those who like to work with symbolic objects, you can place your three legged toad in the north corner of the office /study but make sure that it faces into the room and not outwards and the coin is always kept in his mouth.

Southwest – The combination here can help to promote achievements in endeavours of a serious nature. Those looking to close any negotiations with a successful result will not be disappointed under this influence. Place a nice healthy plant in this sector of the room to promote growth (Please avoid prickly leaves or cactus). If you have a door here try and use it more in July and place some plants inside or out to stimulate the good energies.

Another good enhancer would be to place some materials green in colour, so for example if your lounge is in this area, place some healthy plants along with some green cushions or sofa throws etc.

Sectors to be aware of this month:

Bad Flying Stars

Northwest – Although a nice monthly #4 star it is spoilt by the annual #5 Yellow so please be very careful with noisy renovations, banging, drilling and hammering in this part of the house. It is strongly advised to leave any noisy work/renovations in the northwest for next year. Those who are recovering from health problems, try to stay away from this area. You can place some metal objects in the northwest corner of the room to dissipate the malevolent influence of the annual #5 Yellow. You would be well advised to refrain from using red in the general décor for the year. Place some blue items instead to calm the fiery interaction.

Avoidance is the best cure for this combination of qi. If you cannot avoid using this room, make sure that metal cures are in place like a Wu Lou and/or six Chinese coins tied in a row with red ribbon. Use metal such as gold, copper or brass. You can use whatever still metal objects you have got handy in your house, but do avoid objects that are sharp or menacing looking. Do not place any red, pink or orange colours in this area or anything triangular or square in shape and do not burn candles in the northwest for the whole year.

East – Although a very nice monthly #1 star this is spoilt by the annual #2 black and this combination can influence and cause possible marriage problems and danger of miscarriage if not careful. For those whose bedroom is in the east palace of the home and whose work requires much travelling, do take extra care and patience on the road. Place your Wu Lou here along with six Chinese coins tied in a row with red ribbon to weaken the #2 sickness and bad luck star.

Southeast – Anyone under this influence may find themselves involved in office politics or in situations where they have to handle or deal with unpleasant disputes or they may experience difficulties handling their superior, peers or people under their care. All these may cause stress affecting their health and state of mind. Legal complications may arise at work for some. A word of caution: in keeping the room cool during this summer month, do not place your fan in this corner of the room. If you cannot avoid this sector, try to stay low and keep your head together and let the monthly influence pass with you unscathed. Use another door if this is your front door. If you have a bathroom or cloakroom here or any room you do not use much this is good news and no cure is necessary.

Try and think about this area carefully this month, do your children play outside in the southeast? Do they have a playroom in this area? Are you planning to carry out work in the SE this month? As you know I am not one for recommending expensive cures and enhancers every month and please be aware of other websites scaring you into buying their products, the most important thing to remember with the monthly flying star is that avoidance is the best cure for this combination of qi. If you cannot avoid using this room keep it as quiet as possible, I know this is easier said than done but try your best.

If you did want to use a traditional cure the only thing I would place here is a pair of red Fu Dogs, it is up to you.

If there are external poison arrows, for example, sharp roof lines, sharp images or unfriendly structures pointing at your property from this southeast direction, this may bring fire accidents. Place a Ba Gua outside if your main door is located here.

Northeast – This is another troublesome palace where a strong metal combination does not really bode well for those using this room and where unhealthy competition may be an issue. Beware of fraud and trickery in business and negotiations. If there is a door or window in this palace of the house, make sure you double check that it is locked before leaving the house. In addition, take extra security precautions. Place something blue around the area to calm interaction. You can introduce the colour blue or black with bed covers, cushions/pillows, rugs, floor mats, table clothes etc.

If you have a front main door here place a dark blue door mat to calm things down and please make sure that security is good.

South – Although a nice annual #8 star we have a not so nice #7 star that can cause theft and many other problems relating to theft like copyright theft. We personally have had a fair share of this over the last few months and it often happens from someone you thought you knew well, so be aware of smiling faces as you cannot always tell a book by its cover.

Place some blue objects here to weaken, if this a kitchen, office or main door you should place a bowl of still clean water, make sure the water is replaced every few days though especially if you live in a warm and dusty climate.

I hope you all enjoyed reading and have had a great month.

  1. Hi Michael, our neighbours are building a very large extension at the rear of their house. They started 5/6 weeks ago and since then we have had nothing but bad luck, ill health and major setbacks. The work is in the South and South West area of our garden/driveway. Would you have any advice from a feng shui point of view as to how we can protect ourselves? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Many thanks, Jo

    1. Hi Jo,

If you have not already, I would recommend placing a six rod metal windchime if your front door is located in the south. You could also hang a Ba Gua mirror pointing towards where the work is being carried out to avoid any poison arrows coming to your home from the building work.

I hope this helps Jo and good luck.

      Kind regards,
      Daniel
